Coach Trainers - Biography

1. Clark Hastings
Clark Hastings started his coaching with Eddie Carvacho locally with Eddie Carvacho Premier soccer camps around the Nashville area. He worked 3 years with Eddie and was the assist director of the camp. Eddie Carvacho went on to continue his coaching at Clemson University and then to the Columbus Crew. Clark has played soccer for 13 years, including the Fever Soccer Club, player Hendersonville High school, TN State ODP team, and college. Clark has received several honors during his playing career at Hendersonville High School including All County, All District, All State, All Tournament team by TSSA, and All South. He went on to attended Lambuth University and graduated with BS Degree in 2002. While at Lambuth Clark was the captain his senior year and received Honorable Mention All-Conference one year + All Conference First Team two years. Clark has also coached various Tennessee United teams ranging from ages of U9- U14, and is the Assistant Coach at Hendersonville High School. Clark also ran the Jr. Academy for TUSC in 2008 and has been the director Footskills for HSC since 2009. Clark is now starting HSC Premier with U7-8 Boys and Girls training for HSC this Fall 2010. Coach Hastings also received the Region III Recreation Coach of the Year by the USYSA of 2010/2011 by to his involvement with player/coach development at HSC. He finds out in Feb. If he receives the honor for National Rec. Coach of the Year for 2010/2011 for USYSA. Clark also holds a D license.
2. Catie Hastings
Catie Hastings, grew up in Ridgeland, MS where she played high school soccer for 4 years with Madison Central H.S. While at Madison Central she had two final four experiences. This lead her to receive a soccer scholarship to Lambuth University. At Lambuth, she was a starter, center mid-fielder for 4 years. Captain her senior year and was award the Coaches Award. Catie received a B.S. Degree from Lambuth in May 2002, and then moved to Hendersonville. Catie then went on the coach with Tennessee United Soccer club were she coached girls form the ages of U9- U12. She holds her "D" license and is currently working with Hendersonville Soccer Club on the Player and Coach Development Program. Catie is the girls assistant coach currently at Hendersonville high school.

4. Darren Frank
Darren coaches the girls 98 team and works with the academy program. After a high school career attending Hendersonville high school, where he won a state championship in 1989, Darren played in college at Lenoir-Rhyne in North Carolina. Now the athletic director and assistant principle at his high school alma mater, Darren continues to be involved with that school’s soccer program as an assistant coach. He holds a USSF D license and heads the 2000 girls academy program
5. Jim Carr
Jim Carr, grew up in Hendersonville playing in the beginning of HSC. He then moved to one of the first travel teams in Hendersonville at age 12. While playing at Hendersonville High School, Jim was named senior captain for Coach Russ Plumber's first senior class. As a freshman at UT Knoxville he began to build a team that competed at the highest level of student sports programs. As a player coach he directed the over 30 program in Hendersonville to a first place in regular season. Since then he has coached the youth of Hendersonville for the last 6 years. Jim holds a "D" national license and heads the 2001 boys academy program as well as being the club's tournament directo6.
6.Bob Schmidle
Bob Schmidle began playing soccer in New Jersey at the age of five. He later moved to Germantown, TN where he was captain of his high school team and had the opportunity to play in several European countries during his playing career. Since graduating from the University of Tennessee he has continued to play in adult leagues for many years. Over the last ten years he has coached both boys and girls teams ranging from U-6 rec. to U-13 select. He began with TN united in 2007 helping with the '98 boys and currently works with the '00 girls academy. He currently holds a USSF D license.
7. Marcela Sanchez
Marcela played soccer with local clubs in Nashville for 9 years. She played with HFC, Harpeth and Brentwood durning her select years. Marcela also played 4 years of high school soccer at Hendersonville where she received many player honors. She has played 3 years so far at Belmont University and hopes to continue coaching after college.
8. Lydia Wright
Lydia Wright graduated and played soccer at BGA. From there Lydia played at Carson-Newman in 2007 for two seasons and is currently playing at Belmont. She has coached at numerous camps at BGA, Lipscomb, and Belmont with all age groups.
9. T.J Brown
T.J played club ball in Hendersonville and for teams in the Nashville area. His is from Hendersonvile and went to HHS where he played/graduated. T.J now attends and plays at Belmont. Coach Brown also is assistant coach at Hendersonville High School. T.J plans on continuing coaching after college.

11. Gavin McKinney
Current teams: 97 Boys Red
Gavin McKinney joined TUSC in 2010 when he moved into a head coaching position at Cumberland University. Originally from Canada, Gavin was an All Conference player at Lambuth University. He moved on to gain a Masters of Education becoming the Assistant coach at Bethel University before his promotion to a head coaching position.
Gavin holds a USSF C license course, and previously coached at Jackson Soccer Club. He continues to be one of the leading young coaches in the state, and has been recognized as such by becoming a member of the TN state ODP staff.

13. Lanie Foutch
has played 13 years of soccer in all. She has played for 9 years with different club teams including, Fever, Tennessee United, and The Metros. Lanie attended Hendersonville High School where she played all 4 years and made one state appearance finishing in the final four. She recieved many awards throughout her high school career such as All-District, All- County, and was asked to be a part of the All- Star Team. Lanie is currently attending and playing at Trevecca and hopes to continue being involved in coaching.
14. Austin Embry
High school Experience: I was a 4 year starter with 2 years serving as team captain. Received all-conference and all region both Junior and Senior year seasons, and all received Defensive Player of the Year. Played in the National Championship with Club team CASL 90.
Coaching Experience: Includes summer high school soccer camps, and skills sessions.

15. Mackenize Cox
Mackenize played soccer since the age of 4 in the HSL. She went on to play with club teams include Lady Fever, TUSC, and TNFC. Mackenize has played in many different positions. She currently is a freshman at Trevecca Nazarene University where she plays soccer. Her coaching experience includes volunteer coaching U-8 girls for the rec program. She is hoping to coach soccer for a long time.
